In May, 2018, the manager of Lushan Geopark was invited to attend the opening ceremony of 2018 Peony Festival held in Bergstrabe·Odenwald Geopark, and participated in transplanting peony flowers in new peony garden as well. During the period of the exchange activities, the closing ceremony of Peony Paintings and Calligraphy Exhibition and presentation ceremony of Peony sandstone sculpture and peony seeds were held. 
 

   In 2014, the two geoparks held Peony Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition in Germany, which exhibited 65 pieces of paintings and calligraphy about peony from 34 artists in Lushan Geopark. To enhance the friendship between the two geoparks, Bergstrabe·Odenwald Geopark sent a piece of sandstone peony sculpture and some peony seeds to Lushan Geopark. And the two geoparks also consulted to develop a peony garden in Lushan geopark. The peony seeds from Germany will be planted in Lushan Peony Friendship Garden next spring. More peony seeds from German geopark will be planted here in future.   

 The good and successful cooperation between the geoparks started in 2007. After that, the cooperation programmes between them have never stopped. The friendship spanning time and space has become an example among global geoparks.
