In early July, first group of Exploring Lushan Summer Camp–A Trip Following the Guide of Chinese Textbook from Wuhan City reached Lushan. Over 200 elementary and middle school students began their three-day exploring trip in Lushan Global Geopark. There would be more than 700 students in three groups to participate in this camp.

Three-day summer camp activities were rich and colorful. Students visited geosites along geo-tour trails, and cultural landscapes as well. The activity themed Plants Kingdom Adventure was carried out in San Yi Xiang Firn-basin (Lushan Botanic Garden),  where there students studied natural knowledge by different activities, such as playing interacting games, observing precious plants, writing plants diaries, recognizing plants graphs etc. Chanting classical poetry at Mao Zedong Memorial Park cultivated the student’s patriotism feelings. Students also presented their talent and skill with open arms in the themed party.

Lushan Global Geopark Administrative Committee paid an important attention to this activity by formulating related discounted policy and helping the organizing committee of the camp do preliminary investigation and demonstration, and completing the summer camp software and hardware in Lushan as well. Administrative Committee is trying to make researching and studying travel and summer camps be one of methods to promote geo-tourism and geo-education.
