Lushan UGGp celebrated the International Museum Day on May 18, 2020, this year the theme is “ Museum for Equality: Diversity and Inclusion”.
Lushan UGGp celebrated the International Museum Day with exhibitions
On the International Museum Day, Lushan UGGp provided multiple activities both online and offline, to publicize geo-knowledge and to improve the awareness of environment protection by offline and online activities. All the activities are designed taking into consideration of COVID-19 prevention and control measurements to protect the safety of the public, such as keeping social distance, wearing face mask, and checking body temperature. The offline activities include an exhibition of digital scanned copies of ancient poetic couplets and photos of items, antiques estimation and appreciation services, and free guide tour for tourists, voluntary interpretation, and an exhibition and sale of themed “Celebrities-in-Lushan” creative cultural products. The online activities include a virtual museum VR online visiting on WeChat official account, and multimedia geo-exhibition for the visitor. Lushan UGGp joined the Museum Union of Jiujiang Municipality so as to enhance regional cooperation. The WeChat official account presented special show themed “A tour of Jiujiang through ancient poetry” to introduce Lushan UGGp landscape and its culture(visitors can appreciate fantastic natural beauty through interpretations of famous poems on Lushan, the landscape photography and listen to poetry recitations). These series of activities have been widely covered by both provincial and national news media, such as Jiangxi Provincial Television and Xinhua News Agency made reports on Lushan UGGp.The geopark visibility and popularity have been enhanced.
