The Second Showroom—the formation about the metamorphic core complex and fault-block mountain of  Lushan

BRIEF  INTRODUCTION

The metamorphic core complex is composed of the inner core, low angle main detachment fault zone and covering beddings. The low angle main detachment fault zone dragged the high-grade rock underneath the bottom of Poyang Lake in the depth of 15-20 kilometers to shallow crust during 96-65Ma in Haihui, Dapailing, Guangyinqiao, Hualinshan, Xiufeng and Wenqian etc. of southeast Lushan form east to west through the distance about 3600 kilometers. The low angle main detachment fault zone was deformed into anticline arc from plank due to long distance movement in lately, enclosing the ancient high-grade metamorphic rock in inner core, arranging the sedimentary cover which consists of 2000-800Ma light metamorphic rock and 800-200Ma sedimentary rock in outer. The main body of  Lushan is made up of the MMC.
The framework of Lushan Fault-block Mountain was formed on the basis of sedimentary cover of MMC during 65-233 Ma. High angle normal faults developed in east and west sides of  Lushan with dipping direction toward outer were the boundary of  Lushan body. When  Lushan uplifted, the neighboring area subsided forming the lakes. Lushan Fault-block Mountain further uplifted quick during 23.3-3 Ma. When the great Quaternary glaciations occurred,  Lushan had been a lofty block mountain.
