A Quaternary glacier is a moving glacier created by accumulated snow. The glacial period started 3 million years ago. In the mountains, the glacier continuously eroded riverbeds and valley walls. Meanwhile rocks on both sides of the hills were constantly crushed and fell. At the same time due to freezing, rocks were broken into small pieces. As a result, the former valley was transformed into a U - Valley with steep vertical sides and a flat bottom.
