It is International Day for Disaster Reduction on Oct. 13rd. The 2018 theme is “Reducing disaster economic losses in relation to global gross domestic product by 2030”. For celebrating the day, the managers from Lushan Geopark carried out scientific popularization activities at primary school of the park in advance.

   Lushan Geopark is kind of mountain geopark. The main geo-disasters are landslide and mudslide caused by typhoon or cold weather. Preventing and reducing disasters should be taken care from small matters. This activities included PPT presentation which is consisted of the type of weather disasters, the edition of weather report and the prevention of weather disasters, donating scientific popularization publication for children and delivering booklets about preventing and reducing disasters, hence the students further understood the geo-knowledge and the knowledge of preventing and reducing disasters

  The aim of the activities is to make students know the importance of preventing and reducing disasters from young age so as to promote their safe awareness of preventing and reducing disasters, to master the basic skills of escaping and avoiding risk. When sudden disasters happen, lives lose as few as possible.
