22nd , April is the 45th Global Earth Day. Global Earth Day is a very important international day for series activities of attracting the public awareness on treasuring earth resources and science popularization. Global Geoparks are very important carrier for protecting geo- resources, environment and geo-science popularization. From 22nd – 24th series activities on the topic” Treasure earth resources, change the ways of development - save and properly use land resources, protect the nature biological living spaces” are carried on.
22nd April, “Lushan Earth Stories” exhibition and on site information serve activities are held again in the information center in the southern gate.The exhibition mainly focus on the development of Lushan geological and landform history and their integration with culture and history. Picture pamphlets, cartoons videos, touch screens and stones, on site presentations are delivered to the children and tourists. It brings a whole direct ,simple and clear image of the combination of Lushan earth stories and culture and history.
The geosciences on site information service provides large scale of pamphlets on Lushan geosciences knowledge, geological and worm disasters prevention methods, geological maps ,botanic publicity and energy savings. They are delivered to tourists and students at the foot of southern gate of the mountain. The huge creen displays Lushan geological history video all the time as usual. They are enjoyed by both by tourists and children.
The activity attracted participants from different departments includes: geopark volunteers, students, guides, managers of natural preserving zone, geologists and botanists. The participants inter-act with kids and tourists， sharing our knowledge with them brings deeper understanding to environment protection. The activity enlarged the influence of Global Geoparks, increased the public awareness to the earth resources and encouraged public to do what they can to contribute to earth resources reservation.
