A UNESCO Global Geopark Photography Exhibition held in Lushan UGGp

To enhance the visibility of geopark and to promote the cooperation and communication among the members of big family of global geopark network, Lushan UNESCO Global Geopark Administration Committee held a UNESCO Global Geopark Photography Exhibition in the Conference Center of Lushan UGGp between July 1 st and 15 th. More than 150 people attended the opening ceremony, they include Mr. ZHANG Guohong, deputy director of Lushan UNESCO Global Geopark Administration Committee, Mr. SHI Wanli, director of Lushan UNESCO Global Geopark Management Office, local residents, and domestic visitors from Hong Kong and other provinces. The number of visitors exceeded 400 on the first day, and had totaled more than 4500 at the end of the exhibition. The exhibition will continue in Lushan Museum, Lushan Library and other public cultural institutions after the first show. With the support from 42 global geoparks of 21 countries, for the exhibit, Lushan UGGp received 215 photographic works. 89 pieces were selected for the exhibition to the public. These photographs display the multidimensional landform, landscape, cultural history, economic and social development, and fascinating and unique local customs of global geoparks. The visitors can have a better understanding of global geoparks through unique aspects of the exhibition. The exhibition enhanced the sense of responsibility and pride of geopark manager and protector and increased the public's awareness of conservation of nature and environment. The ecological idea of "green water and green mountains are gold and silver mountains (well protected natural resources are of great value)" gained higher recognition in the society.
