BRIEF  INTRODUCTION

Lushan is adjacent to the Yangtze River to the north, and Poyang Lake to the east.Such a location endows it with an exceptionally view of mountains, rivers and lakes. But how come the landscapes in Lushan are so uniquely beautiful and grandly steep? Why does Lushan throng with cliffs and waterfall of various sorts? The answer lies in the fact that Lushan was a unique kind of compound landforms with their own characteristics. Its diversity of landforms, including glaciated landforms,horst-fault formations and fluvial landforms, were formed under the influence of three different kinds of geological operations. They are rare both at home and abroad. Therefore, they are of great significance not only for scientific research, but also for sight-seeing and the development of tourism.
